A Southern Virginia economic development and education partnership which includes Patrick Henry Community College and New College Institute has been awarded a $648,000 state grant to prepare local students for high-growth careers in information technology, advanced manufacturing, and related fields.
New College Institute is honored to announce a new initiative, LIFE — Learning Is ForEver, made possible by the generous donation of Martinsville resident Barbara Matthews. The goal of the LIFE program is to create engaging learning opportunities for adults of all ages, particularly those above fifty.
The elementary education program via Longwood University at NCI has been the perfect opportunity for Taylor Morris. Taylor started her college journey by earning an associate’s degree at Patrick Henry Community College. Then she transferred to Longwood University, choosing to live on campus in Farmville. After a semester, she realized the traditional college experience on campus was not the right fit for her. While Taylor loved the academic experience at Longwood, she missed home.
