Launch a Career in the AWS Cloud

We are now accepting applications for our FREE 12-week AWS re/Start beginning on June 14. Contact Chris McDonald for more information. As a response to COVID-19, enrolled classes have moved to a remote learning environment.

Classes are full-time, virtual, Monday through Friday. Days are intense and dedicated to technical training and professional coaching to prepare you for the workplace.

Learning Objectives

AWS re/Start program graduates are able to demonstrate the following skills and abilities. Download Informational Flyer

Working knowledge of operation systems like Linux, scripting, automation, programming languages and software lifecycles
Understanding of networking concepts, protocols, security
Knowledge of security fundamentals such as identity, authentication, authorization, AWS’ shared responsibility model and web access firewalls
Fundamental understanding of databases concepts
Application of core AWS services in the area of compute, storage and networking, including EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda, Cloud Formation, RDS, and Route 53
Understanding of professional information technology working environment, including communication skills, collaboration tools, project management, presentation skills, project reporting, behavioral attitude

AWS re/Start also provides learners with resume and interview coaching to prepare for meetings and interviews with employers.

SCHEDULE
Classes are full-time, virtual, Monday through Friday. Days are dedicated to technical training and professional coaching to prepare you for the workplace.

Learner Profile

Ages 18 and older
High school diploma or equivalent
U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
Women, youth, and U.S. Veterans strongly encouraged to apply
If you’re a veteran, must have been honorably discharged within the last 10 years
Unemployed, underemployed, or searching for a new career
You have an interest in technology.
You can read, write and speak in English.
You can pass a basic academic assessment test.
You can attend classes full-time for the entire duration of the course.
You are ready to make an important commitment to building your future.

Building Your Career

AWS re/Start alumni learn more than just technical skills needed to get a good job. AWS re/Start also focuses on teaching resume writing skills, communication and time management.

TARGETED CLOUD JOBS
Learn what employers are looking for and how you can gain skills necessary for a career in fields such as Cloud Operations, Site Reliability, Infrastructure Support, DevOps, and more.

CONNECT WITH POTENTIAL EMPLOYERS
AWS re/Start alumni pursue entry-level cloud roles in operations, site reliability, and infrastructure support. In these positions, they can provide frontline support, escalate issues effectively, carry out initial troubleshooting, and automate manual tasks.

Application Process

Pre-Qualification

To see if you are eligible for admissions, you must be able to answer YES to the following questions.

Are you 18 or older?
Do you have a High School Diploma or GED?
Are you a U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the U.S.?
Are you unemployed, under-employed or in search of a new career?
Are you able to commit to training Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. for the length of the training?
Are you able to commit to an additional 20 hours each week to study while in training?
Are you committed to obtaining professional IT skills and full-time employment in IT immediately after training?

Virginia residents will be given priority for this cohort.
