STEM Education Takes Center Stage in Summer 2023 with an Array of Innovative Programs at New College Institute
Martinsville, VA – New College Institute (NCI) is proud to announce its upcoming summer programs for K-12 students and educators. From teacher professional development to a range of summer camps, students and educators alike can choose from an array of programs designed to enhance their STEM skills and knowledge.
The STEMbot Teacher Professional Development Workshop is an innovative week-long event that aims to equip educators with modules of instruction and hands-on learning that will result in engaging hands-on and minds-on instruction for their students. The event will run from June 5 to June 9, 2023, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, and is open to K-12 educators.
For students, NCI offers several summer camps, including Coding Camp – Java Programming, Designing Passive Trash Collection System for Mulberry Creek, and Biodome Minecraft. These camps aim to make learning fun and interactive for students while enhancing their STEM skills. The week long camps will be held on various dates from June 12 to June 30, 2023.
“We are excited to offer these innovative STEM programs for students and educators,” said Dr. Susheela Shanta, Coordinator of K12 Programs. “Our programs are designed to make learning fun and interactive, while providing students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in a rapidly changing world.”
To celebrate the creativity and hard work of our summer camp students, NCI is hosting a Summer Camp Showcase and EXPO on June 29, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The event is open to all and will feature the exciting projects that the students have worked on during the summer. There will be fun-filled activities for all who attend. There will be refreshments available and door prizes for those that register for the event on the NCI website.
