18th Annual Dr Martin Luther King, JR. Leadership Breakfast

The 18th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership Breakfast will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at New College Institute, (191 Fayette Street Martinsville, VA 24112).
You are invited to come and support this endeavor, enjoy delicious food, and join in fellowship with us in recognizing the legacy of Dr. King. Tickets for the breakfast are $10.00 each. For more information, contact Brother Ben Gravely (276)806-0515.

Interested in starting your own garden but not sure where to begin? Join Melanie Barrow as she goes over the basics of gardening and answers your questions! 

We invite you to participate in the various learning opportunities made available throughout the year – all of which are designed to be engaging, enlightening, and interesting. Any adult is welcome to participate in our programs. There are no prerequisites to participate, and no fee to participate unless otherwise noted. All you need is an interest in sharing an educational experience. Every course is designed to foster lively, fun engagement with a focus on topics and resources available in Martinsville and Henry County.

Wind Turbine Technician – Basic Safety Training (BST)

Basic Safety Training in Working at Heights, First Aid, Manual Handling, and Fire Awareness. Join us for our next BST module on February 14-18,2022.
The aim of the BST module is to give students the knowledge and skills to safely execute work at heights, administer first aid, understand fire safety awareness, and perform Manual Handling tasks in the wind turbine industry/environment.
The course is located in Martinsville, VA at New College Institute and space is limited.

Basic Technical Training in Electrical, Mechanical, and Hydraulic Tasks. Join us for our next BTT module on February 14-18, 2022.
The aim of the BTT module is to give students the knowledge and skills to carry out basic electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic tasks (supervised by an experienced technician) using safe working procedures.
The course is located in Martinsville, VA at New College Institute and space is limited.
