It’s All About Skills & Teamwork for NCI Interns

A troubleshooter… an organizer …a driver…and a marketer. No, it’s not the answer to a Jeopardy question, it is the skill set for NCI’s robotics interns.

It is summertime and that means that New College Institute (NCI) is buzzing with summer interns who are gaining valuable experience in a variety of disciplines. Four of the students are working in a unique program where, as robotics interns, they will have the opportunity to return to NCI in a part-time capacity when they return to college in the fall.

NCI’s Internship Program Improves Regional Workforce

Thanks to New College Institute’s internship program, 575 college students have completed internships in our region since 2007. NCI is currently recruiting for 2019 summer interns in career sectors including healthcare, social work, business, marketing, digital media, video production, public school administration, manufacturing, and robotics.

Certified Production Technician: Manufacturing Processes & Production

Certified Production Technician (CPT):

The CPT Certification program at New College Institute focuses on the core technical competencies of the entry-level production worker, as well as prepares students for the MSSC-CPT assessments with a focus on safety (OSHA 10 for General Industry included), quality practices & measurement, manufacturing processes & production, and maintenance awareness.

– Manufacturing, Work-readiness & Safety: July 6 – 15; Tuesday – Thursday 9:00am-2:00pm – $299.00 (Cost includes the $60 one time registration fee required by MSSC)                      
– Quality Practices & Measurement: July 20 – August 24; Tuesdays – 9:00am-2:00pm – $239.00
– Manufacturing Processes & Production: July 21 – August 25; Wednesdays – 9:00am-2:00pm – $239.00
– Maintenance Awareness: July 22 – August 29; Thursdays – 9:00am-2:00pm – $239.00
